Ok Lah! is the brainchild of two close friends who are passionate about food. Born from the heart of Queens pride and a love for Southeast Asian culture, Carson Yiu owner of "Outer Borough" and Neil Syham owner of "Lumpia Shack", wanted to bring to the ethnic rich community of Flushing Queens food that would speak from home.
Neil began his restaurant career at the age of 26, working in fine dining and catering operations and earned his way through the ranks and eventually opened his first restaurant in 2012. Neil’s restaurants have received rave reviews and has been written up in “The New York Times”, “New York Magazine”, “EATER” and many other publications. Neil has won award of Top Chef Philippines and the NY Vendy award winner.
Carson began his restaurant career at the age of 18, curating numerous restaurant positions including bartending. After spending two yearsrunning a self-starter pop-up selling Taiwanese shaved ice, he became a Food and Beverage Director. He went on to open Outer Borough, a Taiwanese food pop up around NYC. He has been featured in Time Out NY, NY Times, Buzzfeed, Food Network, Fung Bros., and The Daily News.
